Group of maximum five students per instructor: the class is practically private. The instructors are local surfers who teach in Campeche all year round, with training in aquatic first aid, serving in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. The Campeche has a sandy bottom and a wide strip, which makes learning safer for those who have never been on a board. The school's base is the Sea Wolf Hostel Campeche, where you put on the neoprene before entering the water.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
The meeting point is the reception of Sea Wolf Hostel Campeche, on Avenida Campeche, 99. Arrive 15 minutes before class time to put on the neoprene suit. The instructor meets you at the reception and takes the group to the beach.
What to expect
Start on the sand, with warm-up and stretching. Next comes the safety part: how to read the ocean, what the currents are, and how to behave on the peak. Still on land, you practice the rowing and the movement of lifting on the board.
After everyone gets in the water. The instructor stays by your side on the first waves and corrects your posture wave by wave, until you go out paddling alone. In the end, he returns feedback on what you did and what to train next.
Each instructor accompanies a maximum of five students. School board and neoprene clothing are included.
