No, not some restaurant, a neighborhood. Your lunchtime food tour takes you through Agnesviertel, the city's beloved "neighborhood of love," where market culture, Roman roots, and immigrant communities created one of Europe's most quietly extraordinary food scenes.
From Reibekuchen at a local market to Karneval staples at a century-old butcher, Italian focaccia to Turkish Lahmacun, each stop tells the story of a city that built its identity one welcoming, working-class bite at a time.
We finish where the neighborhood's heart beats loudest, in front of the beautiful Agneskirche, with dessert, kiosk culture, and the full story of what makes Cologne so special.
You'll leave the tour full, having met local owners, knowing hidden spots and recommendations, and understanding Cologne's food and culture more than many residents do!

Meeting and pickup
You'll find your guide in front of one of Cologne's most famous bars, Suderman. Recognize them wearing clothing from the company Freewalk Cologne, a nametag and a smile.
We'll end our tour a five minute walk from where the tour begins in one of Cologne's most beautiful squares. From here, you can easily catch public transport within a few minute walk or explore the neighborhood of Agnesviertel further.

After meeting in front of one of Germany's most popular bars, we'll begin to explore Cologne's foodie scene in a staple of Agnesviertel, one of the city's most beautiful neighborhoods at the Sudermanplatz Weekly Market. Through a mix of stalls, get ready to explore and sample a variety of cuisines and flavours centered in Cologne's culture and fundamental to our taste-identity. With a hand from stall owners, we'll get our food journey started.

In the center of Agnesviertel, we'll end our tour in front of the church that gives the quarter its name and a piece of its steady heartbeat. The other piece of that heartbeat is where we'll finish our tour with dessert. At one of the most famous Büdchen in Cologne, we'll wrap up what we've learned and give you the recommendations we've collected over years of guiding so you can explore the city further! From there, explore Agnesviertel further, catch a tram or bus from a nearby station, or walk your way into the city within 20 mins or less.
