At the end of the class, enjoy a Greek feast in the lovely shaded courtyard and return home able to cook a full Greek meal from scratch!
In a multi-day experience, classes will focus on different aspects of the various regional cuisines of Greece. Go on a market tour and sample exquisite local specialities, enjoy a gourmet beach picnic and swim in pristine beaches, explore fishing villages, traditional settlements and local tavernas and learn how to forage wild herbs and greens.
Your stay will be at Villa Maria, a restored historical listed 19th century mansion, full of old world charm, in the magnificent town of Ermoupolis, capital of Syros, an island with rich history and culture and fascinating culinary tradition.

What's Included

The experience includes a 3 hour cooking class during which will prepare 6-7 different dishes, and the meal that will follow the class.

Meeting point

The meeting point is our guesthouse, Villa Maria, where the class takes place. The address is 42 Idras st., just two streets up the steps above the town's main square.

What to expect

We will meet at Villa Maria, our historical guesthouse. The class will take place in the villa’s gourmet kitchen.
You will enjoy a glass of herbal tea made with the island’s wild herbs while I give some information about the Greek culinary traditions.
We will then start our hands-on cooking class, where we will prepare a full menu of several dishes and learn step by step Greek home recipes not found in restaurants.
Our menu will include a couple of starters, a pie, a salad, a main dish and a dessert.
You can opt for a vegan/ vegetarian menu.
Menus vary according to season.
In the end, we will share a feast in the villa’s shaded courtyard.
You can add, at a supplementary cost of 50€ p.p. ,a wine and cheese tasting. You will try excellent Greek wines ( a white, a pink, a red and a dessert wine)from Greek grape varieties and sample artisanal cheeses from various Greek islands.
