    Boat Trip to Drottingholm , The Royal Residence

    Stockholm City Hall

    We start the tour from the City Hall, a landmark of Stockholm and world famous for the prestigious Nobel Prize Banquet hosted every year in the Blue Hall under H.M. the King and Queen of Sweden.

    Fron the City Hall , we board a ferry for a 50 minutes cruise across the picturesque Lake Malaren. The Castle and surrounding grounds are listed on Unesco World Heritage since 1991. Once we arrive on the island where the Castle is located , designed by the architect Nicodemus Tessin in 1600 and commissioned by Queen Elenora. We visit the Royal Palace wings open to the public and enjoy a walk around the Royal gardens and parks , the Court Theatre designed in Baroque style and decorated with fountains , sculptures ….

    We visit the private Royal Theatre next to the Royal Castle and enjoy a coffee break in the Castle cafeteria. From there we return to the City centre with ferry.

    Djurgarden

    We board the ferry from the Old Town to the lush green island of Djurgarden where we visit the legendary Vasa museum home to the Vasa warship sank in the 17th century on its maiden day and salvaged after 333 years at the bottom of the sea.

    Gamla Stan, the Old Town & the Vasa Museum

    Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

    We stroll the cobbled , narrow streets of the Old Town dating back to the 13th cent, enjoy the picturesque ,medieval architecture and hear stories , legends about the people who lived here 800 years ago. We stop by the Cathedral where coronations ,royal weddings and funerals of all Swedish kings took place and home to the famous sculpture in timber of Saint George & the Dragon. Then we move to the royal Palace from the 17th century , an impressive compound hosting the Royal Apartments, the Treasury , the Chapel , museums..... -We move to Riddarholmen island to visit the medieval Abbey , the final resting place for all Swedish monarchs. -Then to the House of Nobility , the beautiful Renaissance building now a museum and a meeting place for the Swedish Nobility .

    Vasa Museum

    From the Old Town, we board the ferry for a 10 minutes crossing to the island of Djurgarden , a lush green park in the city , previously a hunting ground of the Royal Family. After short walk , we visit the world famous Vasa museum , the main attraction on the island . The museum is home to the war ship which sank in 1700 on its maiden day after 333 years on the bottom of the sea.

    Sodermalm

    We walk the streets of the Boherian district of the City and enjoy a photo stop on the View Point , MonteliusVagen for a panoramic view of the Lake Mälaren and the other islands from the hights of Södermalm, the biggest island and previouslu the working class area in th 19th century.
