The journey starts with a transfer to your hotel either from the airport or the port of Faial Island. The hotel’s unique design incorporates volcanic stone, maritime colors, and wide panoramic windows that open toward the Atlantic. A stop at Monte da Guia offers panoramic views of the bay and Porto Pim beach. Guests may also visit the Whaling Station Museum to discover Faial's maritime heritage. The route continues west to Capelinhos, the dramatic volcanic landscape created by the 1957 eruption. A visit to the Interpretation Centre reveals the story of the eruption and its impact on the island. Outside, the striking terrain of ash and lava feels unlike anywhere else in the Azores. Lunch is served in a local restaurant featuring fresh fish, seafood, and traditional flavours. In the afternoon, travel to the magnificent Caldeira, Faial's vast volcanic crater. The return journey passes through peaceful rural landscapes. Overnight in Horta.
