A 100% private, unhurried day along Chile's central coast. We follow the coastline of Concón and Reñaca, take in the whole bay from the Mirador Oceánico and watch sea lions and seabirds in their natural habitat. In Viña del Mar we admire its palaces and castles, and at Caleta Portales we step into the daily life of a fishing cove.
In UNESCO-listed Valparaíso, we visit the Dissidents' Cemetery and stroll through Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción, an open-air museum of street art. The highlight: an exclusive private visit to Galería Espacio Rojo.
You travel with a dedicated guide and a separate professional driver, with mineral water, snacks, funicular tickets and a preferential table reserved for lunch overlooking the bay (meals and drinks not included). A private transfer to or from Santiago airport (SCL) is included.
This is not a shared bus tour. It is 100% private, exclusively for you, your travel companion and/or your group: no strangers on board, and we never merge bookings.
Door-to-door pickup from any hotel or private residence within Santiago city limits. Please provide your exact address when booking. Arriving by cruise? Select the Valparaiso Passenger Terminal (VTP) pickup. Santiago airport (SCL): a private airport transfer is included for EITHER your pickup OR your drop-off (not both, this is not a layover service). Please share your flight details after booking. As this is a full-day itinerary with fixed reservations, any flight delay will reduce the time available at each stop. Pickup and drop-off at the Port of San Antonio (STI) are not included. This is a strictly private experience for your group only: we never merge bookings or use shared buses.
We begin with a scenic coastal drive through Concón. Along the way, you'll spot the beaches where beginner surfers catch their first waves and the local seafood spots that give this shoreline its character.
We step out at a strategic vantage point to take in the full sweep of the Bay of Valparaíso and its dramatic coastal geography.
As we continue along the coast, your guide shares how the bay began as a family holiday retreat in the early 1900s, a story brought to life by the contrast with today's modern condominiums and resorts in Concón and Reñaca, famous for their soft golden sand.
We stop to observe this natural rock formation up close, where sea lions, fish and seabirds share their habitat.
En route, we pass the Chilean Navy complex, a self-contained community where naval personnel study, live and unwind, closely woven into local life.
A panoramic drive through Viña del Mar, Chile's "Garden City," where relaxed seaside living meets a lively evening scene and the iconic Casino de Viña del Mar, the country's first.
A heritage stop to admire, from the outside, the castles and palaces of Viña del Mar, built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries when the wealthiest families chose to live in grand residences by the sea.
We step into the daily life of a traditional fishing cove, where customs, craft, family and community come together, and sea lions and pelicans emerge from the water to mingle with the fishermen just a few feet away.
We wind our way up the narrow, serpentine streets of this UNESCO World Heritage city, its heritage buildings and hillside neighborhoods unfolding outside your window.
We stop at the historic cemeteries of Cerro Panteón, especially the Dissidents' Cemetery, a powerful testament to the cultural and religious encounters that shaped Valparaíso.
A guided walk through the colorful streets of Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción, a true open-air museum where street art and design take over every wall and corner.
Around 12:30 we arrive at a restaurant where we have reserved a preferential table with sweeping views of the bay. Please note: the reservation only secures your preferred seating. Meals and drinks are NOT included in the tour price and are paid directly at the restaurant. To make the most of your day, lunch and the private visit to Espacio Rojo follow a lightly fixed schedule, so you never lose time waiting.
An exclusive private visit to Galería Espacio Rojo, where established and emerging local artists exhibit together in a unique harmony curated by the gallery's founder, Cristian Rojo.
We visit Palacio Baburizza, an Art Nouveau mansion on Cerro Alegre that houses Valparaíso's Fine Arts Museum, with sweeping views of the bay from its terrace.
We ride Ascensor El Peral, one of Valparaíso's historic funiculars, descending from Paseo Yugoslavo to the heart of the old port.
At the foot of the funicular we reach the Palace of Justice, seat of the Court of Appeals of Valparaíso, facing Plaza de la Justicia and the historic port district.
