If you only have one full day to see Cape Town this is your best chance.
Table Mountain first thing. Its the best time around sunrise. Then a short city visit followed by a tour down the mountainous and scenic Cape Peninsula through picturesque Hout Bay and the cliff clinging Chapmans Peak drive with the crashing waves far below to the wild nature reserve with Cape Point and Cape Of Good Hope and the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.
Then back through the naval port of Simonstown to join the Penguins on Boulders Beach. If time allows we will finish with a visit to a centuries old wine farm.
We can start as early as 7.00am to get in all of this or as much as we can.
This tour is for those who have only one full day to spare to see this wondrous city.
After you have booked we will share mobile ( WhatsApp) numbers to make sure pick up is smooth
We usually start with Cape Town's iconic mountain. Ascending it and enjoying the unrivalled view from the top of mountain, sea and city is a lifetime memory. It is however weather dependent and so will have to be bypassed for later in the day or even another day should the cableway be closed because of wind or cloud visibility.
Travelling along the coast southwards we encounter the fashionable sea front of Camps Bay, South Africa's Cannes or Nice you might say. Expensive open top sports vehicles are numerous outside the streetside cafes and many of Cape Towns top restaurants and hotels are here. You will also go along a stretch of "billionaires mile" where magnificent villas ascend the steeply sloping coast in stepping stone fashion. The road is sometimes right on the seas edge, villas left and sea scape to the right
The fishing village and port of Hout Bay lies on where the road southwards attractively curves around a bay and ascends a cliff where later you can stop and take in the view of its picturesque location. From here, weather permitting you can take a short boat trip to small rocky island to see some of the huge numbers of seals that inhabit local waters. If you wish our guide can time this trip so you can have the freshest fish lunch caught that very day. The local delicacy is called Snoek and is high in all those omega oils that your body needs but there is also white fish and shellfish and mussels.
From Hout Bay the road curves up and around Chapmans Peak Drive. The road ascends the steep edge of the coast to a view point at the top giving a magnificent view of Hout Bay harbour with its yachts and fishing boats and the heavily populated Seal Island at it mouth and the back of Table Mountain. This is where we make our first stop to stretch your legs, breath in some mountain and sea air and take some pictures of one of the world's most beautiful stretches of coastline
