Departing the City of Inverness this adventure will take you on a journey along the Great Glen, encompassing Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, mountains and spectacular scenery crossing the sea to the Isle of Skye.
We will arrive at Eilean Donan which is a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh. The picturesque Eilean Donan Castle frequently appears in photographs, film and television dominates the island. We will stop nearby for a photo opportunity.
Continuing towards Portree, traversing the Cullin mountain range, we
follow the east coastal route visiting the stunning locations of the Old Man of Storr, the Quirang and Kilt Rock.
We will stop for a short time to enjoy the capital of Skye. This will allow a lunch opportunity or retail therapy time.
Returning to Inverness we will stop at the famous Fairy Pools and briefly at Sligachan Bridge where the river runs, from the cascading waters, off the Dark Cuillin Mountain.

Meeting and pickup
We will be parked on the coach bays adjacent to the Inverness Cathedral. Vehicles will have a logo MacNeil Coaches on the vehicles in blue lettering. Drivers will be wearing corporate shirts which also have a MacNeil Coaches logo on. This will readily identify the correct vehicle and your driver.

1Loch Ness Region
We will drive through Glen Urquhart following the shores of the world famous Loch Ness, pointing out areas where the elusive Loch Ness monster has been sighted! We will have a quick photo stop.

2Eilean Donan Castle
We will arrive at Eilean Donan which is a small tidal island where three sea lochs meet, Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh. The picturesque Eilean Donan Castle frequently appears in photographs, film and television dominates the island. Since the castle’s restoration in the early 20th century, a footbridge has connected the island to the mainland. We will stop nearby for a photo opportunity.

We will traverse the Cuillin mountain range viewing the formidable Black Cuillin with its domineering presence.

4The Old Man of Storr
Travelling along the islands east rugged east coast, exploring the Trotternish Peninsula we will stop at a view point looking towards The Old Man of Storr, with a further photo opportunity.

5Quiraing
Travelling along the islands east rugged east coast, exploring the Trotternish Peninsula we will navigate the narrow country road to the Quirang, with its infamous hair pin bend. A visually stunning geological formation, with amazing views from the summit.

6Kilt Rock
Travelling along the islands east rugged east coast, exploring the Trotternish Peninsula we will stop at the famous Kilt Rock and its cascading cliff waterfall, known as Mealt Falls, absorbing the rugged coastal beauty.

7Portree
Continuing onto Portree, we will stop to enjoy the capital of Skye. This will allow a lunch opportunity or retail therapy time.

8Fairy Pools
The Fairy Pools are one of the Isle of Skye’s most famous and photographed natural attractions, renowned for their crystal‑clear turquoise and blue waters, cascading waterfalls, and dramatic mountain backdrop, feeding off the Dark Cuillin.

9Sligachan Old Bridge
