This safari offers a unique combination of adventure, culture, and wildlife in the less-explored northern region of Kenya. Unlike traditional safari circuits, the experience combines a guided hike up the sacred Mount Ololokwe with exceptional wildlife viewing in Buffalo Springs National Reserve, creating a perfect balance between outdoor adventure and classic safari experiences.
The tour also provides an opportunity to experience the rich culture and landscapes of Samburu County, an area known for its dramatic scenery, authentic traditions, and fewer crowds compared to more popular safari destinations. Hiking Mount Ololokwe allows travelers to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, sunrise or sunset moments, and meaningful cultural significance tied to the Samburu community.
In addition, Buffalo Springs National Reserve is home to rare northern Kenya species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and Beisa oryx, making the safari especially appealing for wildlife
