We run the Peninsula in a 13-seater minibus with a registered local guide who lives in Cape Town, not a 60-seat coach. Small groups mean we reach Hout Bay and Boulders ahead of the crowds, and there is time to walk and look rather than just photograph from the roadside. You choose between a seat on the shared departure or the whole vehicle to yourselves.
Pickup runs from 07:30 across the City Bowl, CBD, V&A Waterfront, Green Point, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton and Camps Bay. If your accommodation is not on the list, choose "I'll decide later" and send us the address after booking - we will confirm either a door pickup or the nearest meeting point. Guests staying outside the pickup area meet us at Zeitz MOCAA in the Silo District. Please wait in the lobby or at the gate from 10 minutes before your allocated time, as the morning run is tight.
Meet outside the main entrance of Zeitz MOCAA on South Arm Road, in the Silo District at the V&A Waterfront. Look for a white Toyota Quantum minibus branded One Day Africa. Your guide will hold a sign with your name from 07:45. Paid parking is available in the Silo and V&A garages.
A working fishing harbour under the Sentinel peak, and our first stop of the morning before the coaches arrive. Watch the seals around the boats, browse the craft market, or add an optional boat trip out to the Duiker Island seal colony at your own cost.
One of the finest coastal roads in the country - 114 bends blasted into the cliff face between Hout Bay and Noordhoek. We stop at the viewpoints for photographs. The toll is covered in your fare.
Stand at the south-western tip of Africa where two oceans meet. Your guide walks you to the Cape of Good Hope sign for photographs and points out the baboons, eland and ostrich that roam the reserve.
Ride the Flying Dutchman funicular or walk the path up to the old lighthouse for views over False Bay and the Atlantic. There is time for lunch at the restaurant or a guided walk down to the Cape of Good Hope.
Walk the boardwalk above one of only two mainland African penguin colonies. The birds nest in the dune scrub a few metres from the path, and your guide explains the conservation work that brought the colony back from near collapse.
