    Yanapaccha Peru Expeditions

    Early morning departure from Huaraz (3,090 m) by private vehicle to Cebollapampa (3,850 m) in the Llanganuco Valley, passing the famous Llanganuco Lakes. Continue by vehicle toward the Portachuelo de Llanganuco Pass and stop at the hairpin bend known as “Curva 45 km” at approximately 4,580 m. From here, begin the hike toward Yanapaccha Morena Camp at approximately 5,000 m. Hiking time: approximately 3–3½ hours. The route crosses grassland and moraine terrain. Climbers carry their personal and climbing equipment to camp.

    Morena Camp (4,580 m.) - Summit Day – Yanapaccha 5,460 m, back Morena Camp - Privaten transport to Huaraz

    Yanapaccha Peru Expeditions

    Very early start from Morena Camp. The ascent begins with a short, steep section of ice to reach the glacier. Continue across snow and glacier terrain, negotiating crevasse fields before reaching the west face of Yanapaccha. The final approximately 200 m to the summit becomes steep, reaching around 65° in sections. Summit: 5,460 m / 17,913 ft After reaching the summit, descend by climbing and approximately 3–4 rappels, depending on conditions and the route. Return to Morena Camp, collect equipment, and continue down to the road where the private vehicle will be waiting. Total duration: approximately 10–11 hours for the summit day. Return by vehicle to Huaraz. Important: Yanapaccha is not considered suitable for first-time climbers. Previous glacier and climbing experience is recommended because the route involves crevasses, steep snow/ice and technical sections.
