Rock of Cashel. Step back in time at the iconic Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland’s most spectacular and historically significant sites. According to legend, this is where St. Patrick converted King Aenghus of Munster to Christianity in the 5th century. The Rock went on to become the seat of the High Kings of Munster and was later gifted to the Church, giving rise to the magnificent medieval structures that remain today.
Our next destination is the impressive Cahir Castle, one of Ireland’s largest and best-preserved medieval fortresses. Built in the 13th century, it served as the stronghold of the influential Butler family for centuries. Nestled on a rocky island on the River Suir, the castle features massive defensive walls, towers, and a beautifully restored keep that offers a glimpse into Ireland’s feudal past.
The iconic Blarney Castle, one of the best-preserved and most renowned tower houses in Ireland. It is most famous for the legendary Blarney Stone, also known as the Stone of Eloquence, located at the top of the tower. According to legend, those who kiss the stone are granted the gift of eloquence.
Mallow Castle is a historic fortified house and castle complex located in the town of Mallow in County Cork. The site combines the ruins of a 16th-century defensive castle with elegant landscaped gardens and river walks along the Blackwater Valley.
