Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel holding a sign printed with your name. Your first stop is Tiananmen Square, the largest urban square in the world. Your guide will introduce you to the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China and Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, where visitors can pay respects to the great revolutionary leader.

ollowing this, enjoy a roughly 15-minute walk to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Forbidden City, Beijing’s imperial palace steeped in nearly 600 years of history. From 1420 to 1912, a total of 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties ruled the country from this site. Accompanied by your guide, you will spend several hours exploring its highlights, including grand entrance halls, imperial private quarters, classical gardens and exhibition halls. Upon conclusion of the sightseeing tour, your driver and guide will transfer you back to the airport with ample time for your connecting flight. Important Note: The Forbidden City is closed every Monday. If your tour falls on a Monday, it will be substituted with a day tour to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Summer Palace and the Great Wall. The Summer Palace served as the lakeside summer retreat for imperial rulers.

After lunch, you will drive for approximately one hour to visit one of the world’s most renowned landmarks: Mutianyu Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Less crowded than Badaling Great Wall, Mutianyu boasts stunning natural scenery surrounded by wooded hills and crisp mountain air. Spend a couple of hours hiking along the fully restored ramparts with your guide. Riding the chairlift uphill and taking the toboggan slide downhill will add extra fun to your excursion. After the sightseeing tour, you will be transferred back to the meeting point.
