Begin by learning about the structure, materials and history of tatami, followed by a short tour of the workshop. Then, try your hand at traditional tatami hand stitching under expert guidance.
You will also create your own tatami coaster to take home.

With step-by-step instruction from friendly professionals, this experience is perfect even for first time visitors to Japan.
Our instructor is a highly experienced tatami craftsman with many years in the industry. Friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to, he enjoys sharing stories and insights about tatami culture and Japanese craftsmanship.
