Want a snorkel stop no one back home will have seen? Skip the standard reef and glide over Pearl Island's one-of-a-kind underwater art trail — a private island minutes from Nassau.
Your guide leads you over a sunken plane, submerged statues and a boat resting on the seabed, slowly reclaimed by the reef and the fish that now live in it. Part gallery, part shipwreck, entirely photo-worthy — in clear, shallow water that's welcoming even for first-timers, with all equipment provided.
And it's a full island day, not a quick stop: two white-sand beaches, free kayaks and stand-up paddleboards and the iconic lighthouse to climb for sweeping views across Nassau Harbour.
Between dips, claim a shaded deck, then sit down to a traditional Bahamian lunch served right on the island. Best of all, you're there in minutes — round-trip ferry included, no long haul to a distant cay. Five hours of island and one dive no one back home will have seen.
Your adventure begins at the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal, located at the East Dock right behind Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville on Paradise Island – just between the two bridges connecting Paradise Island and Nassau. Please check in 15 minutes before your scheduled departure.
Check in at the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal — East Dock, behind Margaritaville, directly across from Atlantis. Meet your crew, find your seat and settle in for the short, scenic crossing to your private island.
Pulling away from the dock, you cruise out across Nassau Harbour — turquoise water, passing cruise ships and the Nassau and Paradise Island skyline framing the ride toward open Bahamian sea.
You set off directly across from the towers of Atlantis Paradise Island, then glide along the Paradise Island shoreline — a last look at the resort strip before it opens into quiet out-island water.
Just before arrival, the ferry slips past Athol Island — a low, green, largely untouched cay that marks the final stretch of the crossing toward Pearl Island.
Step ashore on Pearl Island and settle into island time. Take your first swim in the crystal-clear shallows, explore the grounds, and use the facilities before the day's program begins.
Your day's guided snorkel is the highlight and unlike anything else in Nassau. After a short safety briefing, follow your guide out over Pearl Island's sunken sculpture trail: a submerged plane, statues and a boat resting in clear, shallow water, slowly reclaimed by coral and the fish that now live in it. All equipment is included, welcoming even for first-timers. Please note: the snorkel slot is scheduled by the crew on the day and its timing varies daily with tides and conditions.
Refuel with a proper Bahamian BBQ lunch, served steps from the water. Cold drinks at the bar, toes in the sand.
Climb Pearl Island's iconic white lighthouse — the landmark from every photo of the island — for sweeping panoramic views across the reef, the surrounding cays and Nassau Harbour in the distance. It's the best photo spot on the island.
Now the island is yours. Relax on two white-sand beaches with complimentary chairs and shaded decks, then climb the historic lighthouse for panoramic views across Nassau Harbour and the surrounding cays.
As the day winds down, settle in for the short, scenic ride back to Nassau — sun on your skin and the lighthouse shrinking behind you. The perfect close to a private island day.
