What to expect

Craft your own Japanese Washi paper lamp—a fun, creative activity for everyone, including children!

Washi paper is a beautiful traditional craft, famous for its rich natural texture and the way it gently softens bright light. In this workshop, you will design your lampshade in a flat form so it takes up almost no space and will not break in your suitcase. At the very end of the class, we will use temporary clips to form the lamp and lower the room lights, allowing you to enjoy a calm, mindful moment as the warm light filters through the unique paper fibers. Afterwards, simply unclip it back into its flat shape for safe travel. Once you return home, you can easily finish and assemble it in seconds to bring a soothing piece of Japan into your room.
