Begin the tour by heading to the west side of the island, to the region of Sete Cidades and its impressive volcanic crater. Stop at the Vista do Rei viewpoint to admire panoramic views over the famous twin lakes, one blue and one green, before descending into the crater for some free time to explore the area at your own pace.
Continue towards the central part of the island, following scenic roads up to Pico da Barrosa, one of the highest points on São Miguel. From here, take in outstanding views over Lagoa do Fogo, a stunning crater lake located within a protected natural reserve and known for its untouched beauty.
Surrounded by fresh mountain air and peaceful landscapes, take a moment to enjoy the unique atmosphere before heading down the hillside.
To end the tour, visit the historic center of Ribeira Grande, where you can stroll through its charming streets and admire the traditional black basalt architecture that reflects the authentic character of the Azores.
