Tarangire is known as the land of giants. It has some of the biggest elephant herds in Tanzania, often 100 or more gathered along the river, plus ancient baobab trees that are hundreds of years old. You also have a good chance of spotting lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and over 500 bird species.

After morning pickup from your Arusha hotel, it is about a 2-hour drive to the park. You spend the full day on game drives with a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park, then head back to Arusha in the late afternoon. Park entrance fees, lunch and bottled water are all included, so there are no surprise costs on the day.

Pickup is from any hotel, lodge or Airbnb in Arusha town. Pickup usually starts around 6:30 AM so you reach Tarangire early when the animals are most active. Please share your accommodation name and contact number when booking. Your driver-guide will confirm the exact pickup time the day before.

    Tarangire National Park

    Spend the day on a private game drive in Tarangire, famous for its huge elephant herds and giant baobab trees. Your guide drives you along the Tarangire River, where lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and buffalo come to drink, especially in the dry season. The park is also home to over 500 bird species. You stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic site inside the park, then continue exploring in the afternoon before heading back to Arusha.
