1Las Hornillas Volcano Hot Springs
Las Hornillas is found in the foothills of the Miravalles Volcano, where you can enjoy a truly unique experience walking inside an active crater. Observe steaming vents, bubbling mud pots, hot water pools, and striking sulphur deposits as you witness the raw power of the earth up close. This is the only place in Costa Rica where visitors can safely explore an active crater and feel the steam rising from beneath your feet. Beyond the volcanic activity, you can relax in natural saunas and enjoy therapeutic mud baths rich in mineral clay, known for their healing properties. To complete the experience, guests can also unwind in natural hot spring pools heated directly by the volcano, offering the perfect way to relax while surrounded by this incredible geothermal landscape.

Connect with nature and explore the beauty of the Tenorio & Miravalles Volcano rain forest you will start out on a 30 minutes moderately hike down to Rio Celeste through the lush primary and secondary rain forest surrounding Costa Rica's most famous river (blue river). come down along leafy jungle trails and across rivers on a private farm, catching new perspectives on the looming volcano and sweeping Bijagua plains.
