What to expect
Your first stop is the Comedy Store, the legendary club at 8433 Sunset Boulevard where Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, and Jim Carrey all performed early in their careers — and where the best comedians in America still work out new material on any given night.
From there the app takes you to the site of the Sunset Trocadero, the glamorous 1930s nightclub where the Hollywood elite gathered and whose location still carries the glamour of an era when the Strip defined American cool.
The route concludes at the site of Pandora's Box and Schwab's Pharmacy, two Sunset Strip landmarks whose disappearance triggered a riot in 1966 and whose ghost still haunts one of the most mythologised streets in American music history.
Around 2 hours on foot. The Strip is best walked in the late afternoon when the light is right and the stories are easier to imagine.
