What to expect

Starting near Kungsträdgården in central Stockholm, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and set course for the waterfront. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city.

The Royal Palace dominates early proceedings — 600-plus rooms of baroque ambition. Riddles cover changing guards, fires and royal quirks.

Across the bridge, the Royal Swedish Opera gleams over the water. Trivia dips into premieres, masked balls and one infamous royal assassination.

Then comes the hunt's oddest treasure: Uppland runic inscription 53, a Viking-age runestone embedded in a Gamla Stan street corner, easy to miss and satisfying to find.

Give it around two hours across bridges and cobblestones. The final leaderboard decides who rules Stockholm — crown optional.
