What to expect
The trail takes you through Amsterdam's oldest streets — the medieval core that existed long before the canal ring was built. The Old Church, Amsterdam's oldest building, features early with a riddle that asks you to look beyond the famous exterior and notice something most visitors walk straight past. East India House — where the VOC once ran its global trading empire — brings a multiple-choice task about the trade routes that made Amsterdam rich. In 't Aepjen, one of the last medieval wooden houses in the city centre, features in a photo challenge that puts the group to work. The streets are compact; pause for a coffee or a canal view between stops.
Live scoring keeps things competitive without taking the fun out of it — especially when the group disagrees on an answer.
The app shows the final ranking when the last clue is done. Amsterdam Center is one of the most photographed places on earth; this trail shows you what's worth looking at.
