What to expect
Along the Mura Veneziane — the UNESCO-listed Venetian walls that ring the entire upper city — you'll tackle riddles about the military engineering that kept Bergamo independent for 350 years.
In the magnificent Piazza Vecchia, often called the most beautiful piazza in Italy, challenges test your knowledge of the Palazzo della Ragione and the Torre Civica.
At the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, you'll study the extraordinary inlaid stone floor and the Baroque Colleoni chapel attached to its flank.
The route takes around two hours at a gentle pace, with stops, photos, and breaks entirely up to you. No guide is needed and no fixed schedule applies.
