What to expect
The first stretch takes you to Praia de Ipanema, the beach made internationally famous by the 1962 bossa nova song. The riddles go beyond the postcard to the neighbourhood's bohemian history and the cultural life that has made Ipanema one of Rio's most beloved districts.
From Ipanema, the route leads to Arpoador, the rocky headland where the two beaches meet and surfers brave the waves below a natural stone platform. The clues explore the geology and culture of this unique stretch of coastline.
The tour continues to Praia de Copacabana, the crescent-shaped beach that has been the backdrop to some of Brazil's biggest moments in sport, music, and history. The riddles dig into the stories behind its iconic mosaic boardwalk.
