What to expect
Your route takes you first to the Mirante do Quadrado, the elevated terrace at the edge of the village square looking out over the Atlantic. The riddles here dig into the history of how this remote village came to be settled.
From there, the hunt follows the path toward Praia dos Nativos, Trancoso's most famous beach. The clues reveal the layers of indigenous, colonial, and Afro-Brazilian life that shaped this coastline.
The final stop is the Casa das Festas do Povo de Trancoso, a cultural space at the heart of the village's Afro-Brazilian traditions. From the bumba-meu-boi to the reisado celebrations, this is where Trancoso's living heritage is kept alive.
