What to expect

Starting in central Pune near the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and follow the riddles through one of India's most historically rich cities. No guide, no fixed start time.

Your first stop is the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Mandir, one of Pune's most important temples. The golden Ganapati idol draws hundreds of thousands of devotees each year, and the riddles take you into the story of its founding and its role in Pune's religious calendar.

The route then leads to the Statue of Shrimant Thorle Bajirao Peshwe. Bajirao I expanded the Maratha empire from the Deccan to Delhi without losing a single battle, and the clues explore the military and political legacy he left behind.

The hunt then takes you to Nana Wada, a traditional Peshwa-era mansion. The wada's thick walls and inner courtyards tell a story the city's modern face tends to hide.

Allow around 2 hours at a comfortable pace. Pune has been at the centre of Indian history for centuries — and this hunt makes sure you feel the weight of that.
