What to expect
Your first landmark is the Puente Nuevo, the New Bridge spanning the 120-metre El Tajo gorge that divides Ronda in two. Built over 40 years in the 18th century, it remains the defining image of the city and an engineering achievement that never loses its ability to stop visitors mid-step.
From there the app takes you to the Plaza Duquesa de Parcent, the old city's central square framed by the church of Santa María la Mayor, built on the site of a mosque after the Christian reconquest — its minaret repurposed as a bell tower in the most literal act of architectural succession.
The route concludes at the Jardines de Cuenca, cliff-edge gardens hanging above the Guadalevín river, where viewpoints over the gorge reward every step.
Around 2 hours on foot. Wear comfortable shoes for the stone paths and some steep sections.
