What to expect
Your first landmark is La Rue Droite, the straight street that runs through the heart of Vieux Nice and has been a main artery of the old town since the 15th century — lined with bakeries, baroque doorways, and the kind of everyday Niçois life that the Promenade never quite shows.
From there the app guides you to the Chapelle de la Miséricorde, the finest Baroque building in Nice — trompe-l'oeil ceilings, gilded altars, and painted vaults that reward every visit.
The route concludes at the Opéra de Nice, the Belle Époque opera house on the Rue Saint-François de Paule whose salmon-pink and white facade dates from 1885 and whose programme of opera, ballet, and orchestral music makes it one of the liveliest venues on the French Riviera.
Around 2 hours on foot through the mostly flat streets of Vieux Nice. The market on Cours Saleya is worth a detour if you start in the morning.
