What to expect
Your first landmark is the Church of St. Cajetan, built in the 17th century by Italian friars in imitation of St. Peter's in Rome — a domed Baroque masterpiece rising improbably from the tropical landscape.
From there the app takes you to the Chapel of St. Catherine of Alexandria, built to mark the Portuguese conquest of Goa in 1510 and later elevated to cathedral status — one of the oldest Christian buildings in Asia.
The route then brings you to the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, whose interior is covered in frescoes, carved wood, and gilded altarpieces that represent the full flowering of Goa's Portuguese-Indian Baroque style.
Around 2 hours on foot. Carry water, wear comfortable shoes, and let the app guide you through five centuries of remarkable history.
