What to expect

Starting at Binnie Pl, Glasgow G40 1AW, UK, open the Explorial app and enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message. The riddles take you straight into the heart of Glasgow's medieval and Victorian story.

Your first stop involves St Mungo, the city's patron saint and founder, whose legacy is embedded in Glasgow's oldest monuments and whose motto — Let Glasgow Flourish — the city has been taking seriously ever since.

Next, the app leads you to the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall, one of the oldest surviving music halls in the world, where a young Stan Laurel is said to have made his debut and where two centuries of Glasgow entertainment began.

From there you head to Glasgow Cathedral, the only medieval cathedral on the Scottish mainland to have survived the Reformation intact — a breathtaking building that deserves more visitors than it gets.

Around 2 hours on foot. The tour works whatever the weather, and the game saves progress if you need a break.
