What to expect
The first clue leads to the Panteão Nacional, the national pantheon housed in a stunning 17th-century Baroque church, where Portugal's greatest figures — from Vasco da Gama's symbolic tomb to Amália Rodrigues — are honoured beneath a soaring dome.
From there the app takes you to Largo do Chafariz de Dentro, a small square built around one of Lisbon's oldest public fountains, tucked between whitewashed walls where laundry still hangs between windows and neighbours still talk across balconies.
The route then brings you to the Sé de Lisboa, the city's cathedral — founded in 1147 on the site of a mosque — whose fortress-like Romanesque facade has anchored the spiritual life of Lisbon for nearly nine centuries.
Around 2 hours on foot. The cobbles can be steep, so comfortable shoes are essential.
