What to expect

Starting at Via Volturno, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and plunge into Palermo's layered streets. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city.

At the Colonna dell'Immacolata, riddles decode the marble column where Palermo renews its vow to the Immaculate Virgin every December.

The Teatro Massimo follows — Italy's largest opera house and a film-famous staircase. Trivia covers divas, decades of closure and a triumphant reopening.

Then the tone shifts at the Murale Falcone e Borsellino, the giant portrait honouring the judges who stood against the mafia. The clues here carry weight.

Around two hours takes you through it all, gelato stops permitting. The leaderboard names Palermo's finest detective at the end.
