What to expect
At the Maison Louis XIV, the timber-framed merchant house where the Sun King stayed before his royal wedding in 1660, you'll tackle challenges about the historic treaty that ended decades of war between France and Spain.
The trail continues to the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the largest Basque church in France and the very building where the royal marriage took place — challenges here explore its unique wooden galleries and the door bricked up after the royal couple left.
At the Promenade Jacques Thibaud along the seafront, you'll answer questions about the bay, the tuna fishing heritage, and the town's famous sea wall.
The whole trail takes around two hours at a comfortable pace, with no guide and no fixed start time.
