What to expect

Starting at the Landsgemeindeplatz by the lake, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and follow the shoreline into the old town. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city.

The Zytturm rises first, its blue-and-white tiled roof and painted clock face crowning the city gate. Riddles climb through its 52 metres of history.

The Unter Altstadt follows — a double row of step-gabled houses that once stood at the water's edge, until part of the town famously slid into the lake. Trivia handles the details delicately.

At the Kolinbrunnen, the armoured figure of Wolfgang Kolin holds his banner high, a hero of a battle Zug never forgot.

Around two hours, ideally ending at sunset — Zug's are legendary. The leaderboard glows accordingly.
