What to expect
From the city centre, the trail leads into the medieval street plan of Gloucester, where Roman roads and Norman walls still shape the layout underfoot. The first riddles guide you to Gloucester Cathedral, whose fan-vaulted cloisters were used as a filming location in the Harry Potter series and whose history stretches back over a thousand years.
Next, the route takes you to the House of the Tailor of Gloucester on College Court — the real shop that inspired Beatrix Potter's beloved story, still selling handmade items to this day.
The app then guides you down to Gloucester Docks, one of the best-preserved Victorian inland docks in Britain, now home to museums, restaurants, and a remarkable waterfront.
