What to expect
The trail moves through the preserved lanes of Wangen's medieval centre, past painted facades, arched gateways, and fountains. The Café Walfisch beim Martinstor — set beside one of the town's historic gate towers — features early with a riddle about the Martinstor that rewards looking up at the gate rather than through it. The Marktplatz brings a photo challenge that makes use of the colourful facade-lined square. The Adlerbrunnen an der Herrenstraße — the eagle fountain on the town's main pedestrian street — features in an observation task about the street's history. Wangen is small and the distances are short.
Competing on points while navigating the old town gives groups a detailed tour without it feeling like one.
