What to expect
The Stadhuis — Leuven's Gothic town hall, built between 1439 and 1469 and covered in over 200 carved niches filled with statues — is one of the most ornate municipal buildings in Europe; challenges here test your knowledge of its architecture and the figures it commemorates.
Across the Grote Markt, Sint-Pieterskerk is a late Gothic church whose nave towers above the square; riddles explore its Flemish treasures, the remarkable Last Supper painting by Dieric Bouts, and the damage it sustained in both world wars.
At the Oude Markt, a square lined entirely with café terraces and known as the longest bar in the world, you'll tackle questions about student culture, Leuven's centuries-old university, and the vibrant life that fills the space.
The trail takes around two hours at a comfortable pace, with no guide and no fixed schedule.
