What to expect

Starting at the Château St-Maire on Rue de la Barre. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city.

The Place de la Cathédrale comes first, wrapped around Switzerland's finest Gothic cathedral — where a night watchman still calls the hours from the tower, every single night. Riddles keep the tradition company.

Downhill, the Tour Bel-Air marks the 1930s moment Lausanne went vertical — the country's first high-rise, still dividing opinion. Trivia takes a side.

Then the Esplanade de Montbenon spreads out its lawns, casino and postcard view across Lake Geneva to the Alps.

Around two hours of slopes and staircases — Lausanne is honest about its hills. The leaderboard takes the podium at the finish.
