Berlin, Germany

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: German and 5 more

The Scheunenviertel has changed beyond recognition since 1989 — some of what it was is still hiding in plain sight.

This app-led scavenger hunt takes you through Berlin's Scheunenviertel on foot, using phone-based riddles to guide you from one landmark to the next. No guide, no fixed start time.

• Follow clues to the Hackesche Höfe, Alte Nationalgalerie, and Humboldt Forum — three landmarks that span Art Nouveau courtyards, neoclassical museum temples, and a rebuilt royal palace
• Start whenever suits you and move entirely at your own pace — no time limit, no pressure
• Perfect for friend groups, families, and curious travellers; photo challenges reveal the details most people walk straight past

Around 2 hours,

What to expect

Starting at Haus Schwarzenberg on Rosenthaler Strasse in the Scheunenviertel, enter your 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message into the free Explorial app and begin a self-guided trail through one of Berlin's most historically layered neighbourhoods.

In the Hackesche Höfe, Berlin's most famous interconnected courtyard complex, you'll solve riddles about the Art Nouveau tiles and the community that has gathered here since 1907.

The trail then heads to Museum Island, where the Alte Nationalgalerie holds one of Germany's finest collections of 19th-century painting — challenges here probe the neoclassical temple that houses it.

At the Humboldt Forum, you'll tackle questions about the reconstructed Berlin Palace and the Prussian collections displayed within.

The whole trail takes around two hours, moving entirely at your own pace through streets that carry layers of divided-city history.
