What to expect

Starting at Khadija Tayyabji Road 1 in Malabar Hill, you'll open the Explorial app, enter the 6-digit game code that you received by text and Viator chat message, and set off uphill. The tour is fully self-guided — no guide, no fixed start time, just your group and the city.

At Babulnath Mandir, riddles wait near the towering gateway of a Shiva temple whose origins reach back centuries — a pocket of incense and bells above the traffic.

The Hanging Gardens come next: terraced lawns and animal-shaped hedges built over the city's reservoirs in 1881, with sea views that make every clue easier to enjoy.

Then the trail turns toward Girgaon Chowpatty, where the viewing deck frames the beach that hosts everything from evening bhel puri snacking to the immersion of Ganesh idols.

About 2 hours at a gentle pace, with shade and snack stops on the way. By the end, Mumbai's greenest hill will have shown you its quieter side.
