Olten likes to say you can reach it from anywhere in Switzerland in under an hour — but this trail is about what happens when you actually get off the train.
This app-led scavenger hunt takes you through Olten on foot, using phone-based riddles to guide you from one landmark to the next. No guide, no fixed start time.
• Cross the Alte Holzbrücke, the wooden bridge that has spanned the Aare for centuries

• Track down the Rathskeller and its place in Olten's civic life

What to expect
The Alte Holzbrücke is the star crossing: a covered wooden bridge over the Aare, rebuilt after Napoleon's troops burned its predecessor, and the perfect stage for the first riddles.
Among the Chorherrenhäuser, you'll study the dignified homes of the canons who shaped old Olten — facades with dates, crests, and clues in equal measure.
The Rathskeller adds the civic chapter, a fixture of town life where politics and beer have shared a table for generations; the app knows which details to ask about.
Around 2 hours at strolling pace, with the old town's cafés close at hand. By the end, you'll have a soft spot for the town everyone else just changes trains in.
