Guided by a local Mayan shaman, you'll enter a traditional stone temazcal, where heated volcanic rocks are infused with water and aromatic medicinal herbs, filling the lodge with soothing natural steam. This ancestral ceremony, practiced for centuries, offers a rare opportunity to discover one of the Maya's most meaningful living traditions through guided chants, moments of silence and a deep connection with the natural elements. After the ceremony, continue with a refreshing swim in a crystal-clear cenote located within the same Mayan community. The experience concludes around the family table, where your Mayan hosts prepare a traditional homemade meal using fresh local ingredients. Enjoy slow-cooked chicken pibil, handmade corn tortillas, white rice, black beans and refreshing hibiscus water while sharing stories and experiencing the genuine hospitality that has welcomed visitors for generations. Vegetarian options are gladly available upon request.
