Pick up from your hotel/ Arusha accommodations and drive to Arusha National Park. While this is a small park, it offers a taste of everything; with Ndutu Crater that mimics Ngorongoro Crater, Little Serengeti and majestic Mount Meru – Arusha National Park is a stunning display of the beauty and wildlife of northern Tanzania. Option to include a walking safari with a park ranger (additional fees apply) to get closer to wildlife.
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for large herds of elephants and the Tarangire River, which attracts animals, especially in the dry season. Here you may spot cheetahs, lions, giraffes and any number of grazing animals coming to drink from the river.
Wake with a view overlooking the stunning Rift Valley Escarpment from your hotel. After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation area for a game drive in the famous Ngorongoro Crater. The Crater is home to the highest density of large predators on the planet – including the highest population of lions. In the afternoon, visit a local Maasai Boma for a cultural encounter and learn about the traditional way of life for the people who live within the crater, among herds of zebras and gazelles.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning, as your destination is located just thirty-minutes drive away. Game drive at Lake Manyara National Park, a great location for bird lovers, here you may spot flamingos, storks, herons, fish eagles, pelicans and many more species. Other animals of note include tree-climbing lions, hippos and elephants. After, drive back to Arusha. Your driver-guide may drop you at the domestic airport in Arusha, or at your Arusha-area accommodations.
