    Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut 1385 m - 2515 m

    Mount Meru

    Start off with a hearty breakfast, then transfer from your hotel to Momella Gate (1385m). After registration, begin the enchanting 10 km trek through Arusha National Park’s Forest. The hike usually takes 4-6 hours, and you may see black and white Colobus or Blue Monkeys in the trees, as well as beautiful birds, including Purple-crested or Blue Turacos.

    Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut 2515 m - 3570 m

    Mount Meru

    After breakfast, you’ll begin the 8 km hike to Saddle Hut. (Approx 3-5 hrs) While the hike is not long, you may begin to feel the altitude. Upon arrival at Saddle Hut, enjoy a hot lunch, then take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru, which has breathtaking views and takes approximately 1 hr. Climbers are advised to rest early this day, as the summit attempt begins around midnight.
