After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your Arusha-area location and hold a quick briefing before heading to Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a game drive in the park: look for tree-climbing lions, giraffes, hippos and flocks of vibrant flamingos at this park shaped by a crater lake.
Enjoy a local village walk in the community of Mtu wa Mbu, which stands just outside the park gates. Stroll through a rice plantation or a produce market and get a feel for the traditional, but vibrant community.
As you head to your overnight accommodations in the Karatu area, you will pass the Lake Manyara Viewpoint, with an opportunity to see the impressive Great Rift Valley and Escarpment. Option to pause for a few photos.
After breakfast, begin the drive to Serengeti National Park. The route takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and you will likely see animals such as gazelles, wildebeests, and zebras throughout the drive. The scenery throughout the drive is beautiful: lush hills, mountains, and expansive grasslands. There is a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Gate, with options to wait at rest stops, as necessary.
Enter Serengeti National Park through Naabi Hill gate. Here you will get your first glance of the "endless grasslands" that Serengeti is famous for. The site has outdoor picnic tables, ideal for enjoying lunch.
Enjoy a game drive through the Ndutu area and into Central Seronera. Herds such as zebras, gazelles, and other grazers live here year-round, as well as their predators. You will have 3-4 hours of a game drive before heading to your overnight accommodations.
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of game viewing in Serengeti National Park. You may traverse through the Seronera area, looking for cheetahs and buffalo, or head to Lobo Valley (the Big Cat Capital of Africa), in search of leopards and lions, or Moru Kopjes, where rhinos might be spotted. Enjoy your picnic lunch at your leisure, and head back to your overnight accommodations in time for sunset.
After an early breakfast, enjoy a game drive back through Ndutu area as you head out of Serengeti National Park. Past clients have spotted lions, giraffes, hyenas, and zebras during this drive - so expect to see some wildlife as you depart the most famous national park in the world.
After entering into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will head to the famous Ngorongoro Crater and descend to the crater floor. Enjoy a game drive in the world's largest, intact volcanic caldera and home to one of the most dense populations of mammals found on earth. Here, lions, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, elands, hippos and so many more animals live year-round. The endangered Black Rhino also calls the Crater home. We recommend taking lunch at the famous Hippo Pool and counting as many tropical bird species as you can during your meal time. In the late afternoon, ascend back out of the Crater and head to your Karatu-area accommodations for sunset, dinner and overnight.
After a leisurely breakfast, begin the drive toward Arusha Town. As you drive, stop near Esilalei area to visit a traditional Maasai home. You're invited to learn about the rich Maasai culture: how animals are herded and cared for, how traditional homes are made by hand, and typical Maasai foods. Participate in a cultural dance, and try saying a few words in Maa.
Depending on your schedule, you may also stop at the Maasai Market in Arusha town. Do some souvenir shopping or purchase gifts for family before your return. There are so many locally-made crafts, artwork and other items that are sure to delight your loved ones.
Your tour includes a complimentary transfer to the Arusha Airport, or other location in Arusha town. Please contact us if your onward destination is a different location, of if you need a transfer to the Kilimanjaro Internaitonal Airport, instead.
