Official Walking tour Santa Cruz de Tenerife

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

Discover Santa Cruz de Tenerife walking with a local guide who grew up on the island. In two hours of a leisurely stroll, you will explore the heart of the capital and learn the stories behind its squares, its market, and its old buildings: how a small fishing port became a capital, how trade with Europe and America shaped the city, and what life is like for those who live here today.
We visited the colorful Mercado de Nuestra Señora de África, where neighbors buy tropical fruit, fresh fish, and island cheeses, and passed by the TEA, the city's modern art center. We walked through the Plaza del Príncipe, with the Círculo de Amistad, one of the most elegant buildings in Santa Cruz, and stopped at the Palacio de Carta, a good example of traditional Canarian architecture with its wooden balconies and courtyard.
