We meet at the office so we can start the excursion.
Once the experience is over, we head to the restaurant Taberna del Viejo Lobo to enjoy the Gastronomic Experience and lunch.
Meeting point
We begin our adventure of the day in the Civic Square, where basic information of the founding of the city will be given, which throughout the walk will be expanded by the story of the different events that gave life to the history of our city.
We will walk along the Beagle Channel Coast, contemplating icons such as the Saint Christopher boat, explanations of shipwrecks and navigators of the time. From the Ushuaia Cartel, we began to walk, amid stories and anecdotes, towards Bahía Enclosed, passing through a site that gave birth to the city, the Mission Alta. From the panoramic view of the Bay we can contemplate the city as a whole. We can see the beauties of the Mission Alta and Baja neighborhoods, linked to the arrival of the Anglican Missionaries and their close relationship with the native Yagans.
Arriving at Casa Beban, passing through Casa Pena before, and having known the objects of very rich historical value of ancient inhabitants, we will go into part of Fueguin history. The Beban House belonged to the Beban family, of Croatian, Dalmatian origin, devoted largely to the provision of general bouquets from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia, through its two schooners. We will also visit the Pena House, today the City Museum, and we can see the beauties of the memories donated by neighbors of all times.
We will visit the Cemetery of Old Townspeople, where figures like Ernesto Krund, the former Governor Campos, read it from the prison "Petiso Orejudo", among others.
Then, we will get to know the Plaza Malvinas, and we can contemplate its history, as well as the history of the 1982 war conflict. After having toured the Monument to Günter Pluschow, and knowing his history as a pioneer aviator of the region.
Then we will continue to the Civic Square of the city, to learn about its history, forged since October 12, 1884 when the national flag is first raised.
