This is a private tour for 1–7 guests. Solo travellers are welcome, with a 2-guest minimum charge. The more guests in your group, the lower the per-person price. Savings start from 3 guests, with the best value when all 7 seats are booked. Travel at your own pace, enjoy plenty of photo stops, and experience the Highlands without sharing your day with strangers.
Visit fairytale-like Dunrobin Castle, explore its grand rooms and gardens, and enjoy the spectacular falconry show. Continue to the seaside town of Dornoch, with time to wander its charming streets and shops, before heading into the wider Highlands. Depending on time and availability, we may also include stops such as Golspie, Glenmorangie Distillery, the Clootie Well or Chanonry Point, making this a varied day of castles, coast, culture and Highland scenery.
Weather, opening hours, private events, or road conditions may occasionally require changes. If so, we'll provide an equally worthwhile alternative.
Travelers who are Out-Of-The-Way:
You can send us a message to make arrangements OR proceed to the default meet-up point (St. Mary's Catholic Church at 30 Huntly Street, Inverness IV3 5PR)
We will be there waiting for you up to 20 minutes.
Look out for a ginger Peugeot Traveller in front of the Church with Aye Tours Scotland logo on it.
An hour drive up north is a romantic, fairytale-like castle that is the historic home of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland. As we drive through its gates, you can imagine yourself in a carriage as you get closer to the castle with its grand turrets. Enjoy stepping into a vast array of splendor within its walls, gardens and grounds. A falconry show in their garden is must see.
We'll stop by Skelbo Castle remains right across Loch Fleet to see if there are any seals lounging about in a distance.
Have lunch at the quaint medieval town of Dornoch. Visit the Cathedral where the famous singer Madonna had her son christened. Local shops and cafes here are a welcome delight to many.
After lunch, you can have a wander along the Dornoch Beach beside the world-famous Royal Dornoch Golf Club.
We'll then visit a world-famous whisky distillery - the 'Valley of Tranquility'. With more than 175 years of honing their craft, they make fruity, more delicate spirit using the tallest stills in Scotland. They offer their own respective tour to show how their whisky is made and for visitors to taste the distinct flavour of their whisky for additional fees. We leave this up to you to decide as you can alternatively choose to simply wander about their stunning grounds and enjoy a tasting at your own leisure in their cozy bar.
