The platform sits 50 metres above a UNESCO World Heritage rainforest with uninterrupted views across to the Great Barrier Reef. AJ Hackett invented modern bungee jumping. This is where they built their home.

What to expect

Stand on the edge of Australia's only bungy jump platform - 50 metres above a World Heritage rainforest, with the Great Barrier Reef stretching to the horizon. This is not a single experience. With 16 different jump styles to choose from, from the classic feet-first freefall to the Tandem, the Backwards, and the iconic Running Roof Jump, no two visits to Skypark Cairns are ever the same.

AJ Hackett invented modern bungee jumping in 1988. Skypark Cairns is the company's only permanent site in the southern hemisphere, operating from a purpose-built tower in the Smithfield rainforest, 20 minutes north of Cairns CBD. Every jump includes a full photo and video package so the moment is yours to keep.

On arrival, make your way to reception and follow the signage. Your crew will walk you through a full safety briefing, fit your harness, and talk you through your jump style options. When you're ready, the platform is yours.

  • Bungy Jump: Minimum age to jump is 10 years old. Minimum solo weight is 100 pounds (45 kilograms) and 66 pounds (30 kilograms) to jump tandem with no more than 110 pounds (50 kilograms) weight difference between the two jumping. Maximum solo weight is 330 pounds (150 kilograms). Maximum tandem weight is 518 pounds (235 kilograms).
  • Not recommended for people with heart conditions, epilepsy, or vertigo. Weight restrictions apply: minimum solo weight 45kg, maximum solo weight 150kg. Tandem minimum 30kg per person, maximum combined weight difference of 50kg, maximum tandem weight 235kg.
