We pick you up at your hotel/hostel/Airbnb in Cusco, Urubamba or Ollantaytambo. IMPORTANT: You can decide if we drop you off at the train station in Ollantaytambo, in its main square or if you want to return at your hotel. We will ask you about your preference after booking (via Viator/Tripadvisor chat).
17:30 pm: You have the option to be dropped off at Ollantaytambo, Urubamba, Sacred Valley, or to return with us to Cusco. Arrival to your hotel in Cusco, full of memories and magical moments. Note: All times are approximate.
8:00 AM: We will arrive at a textile center where the weaving traditions are kept alive. The alpacas and llamas will welcome you and you can feed them. You will also learn about their weaving techniques with natural inputs to produce incredible hand weavings.
9:00 AM: Our short llama trek begins in a charming local community in Chinchero, where you’ll have the opportunity to connect with local traditions and learn more about the fascinating world of llamas and alpacas, including how they are raised and cared for. The experience also includes a scenic 40-minute hike to the archaeological site of Machuqolqa, where history, culture, and beautiful landscapes come together.
10:45 am: Discover Moray with impressive Inca terraces, one of the best kept secrets of the Sacred Valley. Breathtaking views, formed by circular terraces. Your guide will teach you about this Inca agricultural laboratory and how they created different climatic zones on these terraces to experiment with crops in different microclimates. From here we continue our tour to have delicious lunch.
12:45 pm: Enjoy a delicious lunch in the heart of the Sacred Valley (vegetarian and vegan options available).
2:40 PM: Our final discovery of the day – the terraces and ruins of Ollantaytambo. This site was heavily fortified as it served as the gateway to the trail leading to Machu Picchu. It also played a significant role during the Spanish invasion.
15:45 pm: You have the option to be dropped off at the train station in Ollantaytambo, or to return with us to Cusco.
5:30 pm: Arrival at your hotel in Cusco, filled with lots of magical moments. Note: All times are approximations.
9:45 am: Salt mines of Maras +3000 salt ponds still intact. This impressive salt mine has been exploited since pre-Inca times. Here you have the opportunity to take one of the most famous photos of the Sacred Valley tour.
